Employment term: permanent position

You will work among a highly international team which will continuously support you to develop your skills. You may also be in contact with other Gexcon offices abroad when project operation requires transversal collaboration.


You will have the following main tasks:

  • Contributing to projects within relevant areas of competence
  • Participate in qualitative and quantitative risk analysis
  • Modeling the frequency and development of accidents
  • Modeling the consequence of accidents (using Gexcon’s available tools)
  • Answering technical safety issues
  • Help develop and maintain Gexcon’s software package, through creative use in projects
  • Transversally contribute to Gexcon’s activity in overseas markets, software support, software application, and experimental work.


The following skills are not required but will be considered a “plus”:

  • Experience with hazard consequence analysis, such as deflagration and explosion dynamics, explosion overpressure effects, unconfined vapor cloud explosions, BLEVEs, and flame radiation.
  • Strong technical background in combustion and/or fire dynamics.


Other note:

  • The successful candidates should be prepared for some travel, domestic and international, including potentially long assignments (several weeks) overseas.


  • MSc or Ph.D. degrees in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Preferably up to 3 years of experience in technical consultancy.
  • New graduates with excellent academic records should apply.
  • Established background in process safety, particularly as related to oil and gas or chemical facilities, which could be from academic experience and/or previous work.
  • Previous experience using FLACS-CFD or 2D consequence modeling tools (PHAST or Shell FRED), from academic or consulting work, is required, experience with other CFD modeling tools will also be considered.
