Webinar: Electrostatic Hazards when Handling Flammable Material
June 11, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm CEST
About The Webinar
Are you responsible for industrial premises that handle flammable materials? Do you design new process plants or maintain existing ones? Do you work in hazardous areas?
Electrostatic hazards are often given the blame as the cause of an accident when it is unclear what in fact was the ignition source. Yet, the processes leading to the generation of electrostatic charge, accumulation, and discharge are well understood, and hence, electrostatic hazards as a possibility for causing ignition of flammable gas, vapor, or dust clouds can be prevented.
In this session, Dr. Kees van Wingerden explained how to analyze static problems and how to apply effective solutions.
About The Speaker
Dr. Kees Van Wingerden

Dr. Kees holds a Ph.D. from the University of Bergen, Norway, and MSc from the Delft University of Netherlands. He has 43 years of experience related to gas and dust explosions. He has also been involved in numerous accident investigations. He is heavily involved in standardization work and has written numerous articles on explosion safety. At the 16th International Loss Prevention Symposium 2019, Dr. Kees received an award for outstanding contribution to the advancement of process safety from the European Process Safety Centre (EPSC).
