Gexcon to open new branch office in Sweden

Gexcon is happy to announce that we will open a new branch office in Sweden. As our market continues to expand in Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, we realized the need for an additional office closer to our customers.

The Sweden office will provide all the core complex risk and safety management services currently provided by the Gexcon global business, such as software sales, process safety consultancy, laboratory testing, and incident investigation.

Software provided by the Sweden office will be the same ones offered by Gexcon global, which includes our own in-house developed 3D CFD consequence modelling tool FLACS and other tools such as FRED, Shepherd, PIPA, EFFECTS, and RISKCURVES.

The consulting services will address projects from industries that are relevant to these countries, including but not limited to LNG, hydrogen, chemical, and all other manufacturers exposed to dust explosion hazards. Process hazard analysis, risk management, and modelling studies are also available and will be supported using one of our many software tools for CFD and QRA projects.

Laboratory testing is necessary, especially for regulatory compliance. The Sweden office can help in connecting clients in these countries to our testing facilities in Norway. We can help with testing mechanical equipment and protective system to be used in explosive atmospheres (ATEX), testing the explosion property of dust, gas, liquid, and vapor, testing to determine the transportation category (such as for hydrogen), and many more.

We can also assist with the incident investigation as we have the expertise from years of experience involved in many incident investigations, including the high-profile accidents such as Buncefield, Piper Alpha, TWA 800, and the P-36 platform (Brazil).

Our Regional Manager, Jonny Danielsson, will lead the Sweden office. As we continue to evaluate our engineering needs, we anticipate additional staff from local area resources will be joining Jonny as we move forward in 2020 and beyond.
