MES increases its commitment to advanced risk and consequence modelling technologies

In keeping with their vision of becoming a world leading Risk, Environment and Safety engineering consultancy, with a commitment to continuous innovation, MES has entered into a multi-year contract to expand its capability in the area of advanced risk and consequence modelling using FLACS-CFD software and the FLACS-CFD cloud HPC service.

Pablo Giacopinelli, Head of CFD at MES stated “This is an important milestone in the relationship between MES & Gexcon guaranteeing continuous collaboration between both companies for the next few years. Our relationship was established for some time already and we see our business further developing around services related to advanced risk and consequence analysis in a wide variety of industries and applications, reason why we decided to invest in the longer run securing a mutually beneficial agreement. We are pleased with the direction in the development of the software and the general support we received from the technical and customer support departments, reason why of our support for the continuous development of FLACS-CFD”.

In addition, Alexandre Lebas, Operations Manager at MES stated that “With the advances in technology and the demands for green energies, we observe an increase in requests for services related with risk analysis and advanced consequence modelling to develop safe designs for different industries including hydrogen, ammonia and other renewables, while continue providing engineering consulting support on more traditional O&G applications across the globe with the help of modelling tools like FLACS-CFD and Shell FRED”.

Paul Taylor, CEO software Gexcon, commented “We welcome this longer term support from MES, a respected international risk and safety consultancy firm. Whilst CFD has played an important role in ensuring the safe design and operation of assets for the last 50 years, the transition towards a net zero energy and materials systems has become increasingly diverse and complex. Providing experts, such as MES, with access to advanced risk and consequence modelling technologies is crucial in ensuring that this transition happens not just rapidly but with minimum harm to people, facilities and the environment”.
