Expert insights by Gexcon at the Hydrogen Safety and Hazardous Areas Conference

Gexcon, a globally recognised leader in process safety and risk management, is thrilled to deliver expert insights at the upcoming Hydrogen Safety and Hazardous Areas Conference hosted by IDC Technologies. This event is scheduled to take place at the Rydges South Bank in Brisbane, Australia, from February 21st to 22nd, 2024.

Dr. Scott Davis, CEO – Principal Engineer of Gexcon US and the Highest Rated Speaker from last year’s Hydrogen Safety & Hazardous Areas Conference, is scheduled to present “Understanding and Managing Risks for the Hydrogen Technology” on Day 1 of the event at 2:15 pm. His presentation emphasises the critical need for an evaluation of both the risks and benefits associated with hydrogen processes, focusing on the safe management of its unique hazards. Dr. Davis will underscore the importance of conducting thorough feasibility studies and engaging in novel research activities to effectively mitigate and control any undesirable consequences arising from the use of hydrogen fuel.

Derek Cross, Team Leader at Gexcon Australia, will be a featured participant in the “Biomass – Hydrogen Steam Reformer Panel Discussion,” scheduled for Day 1 of the event at 3:45 pm. This panel discussion will centre around Raven SR2, Australia’s first biomass steam reformer for green hydrogen production. The discussion will delve into the technical, economic, and environmental benefits of this installation. Furthermore, it will address the various challenges and opportunities for scaling up green hydrogen production, not just in Australia but on a global scale, marking a significant step forward in sustainable energy solutions.

The participation of Gexcon’s experts at this conference underscores the company’s commitment to leading the way in safety and risk management in the hydrogen industry. Attendees can expect to gain in-depth knowledge and engage in thought-provoking discussions on the critical safety aspects of hydrogen technologies.
