About the presentation

Title: Advanced dispersion modelling of hydrogen cyanide in a closed environment

In this case study, as part of the client’s process, Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) gas is released from plating tanks during normal operating conditions. Previous simplistic modelling carried out by the client estimated a situation that would be intolerable for the personnel in the area considering the high toxicity of HCN at low concentrations. A detailed ventilation and dispersion modelling study was conducted for the area in order to provide more realistic release and dispersion conditions.
