About the event

The need for alternative sustainable energy carriers that could contribute to reducing CO2 emissions arises due to significant concerns about fuel scarcity and global warming.

Hydrogen, ammonia, methylcyclohexane, and methanol, among many others, are seen to potentially address these issues as they can support the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions toward a sustainable future.

Even though these future fuels are considered safer for the environment, there are still potential flammable and toxic hazards associated with these fuels that we have to consider to ensure their safe use and handling. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the consequences of the potential loss of containment of these fuels to prepare effective preventive and mitigative measures.

In this online learning session, we discuss how safety professionals can use Shell FRED consequence modelling software to perform their safety assessments for future fuel applications.

You can also see how the software has been validated for materials of those fuels, making Shell FRED a reliable tool to assist with your decision-making in projects and operations.
